Osteopathy:

Osteopathic practice is a healthcare approach that provides a package of care that can include one or more of the following: manual therapy, health information, self management advice and support, and/or exercise therapy, as determined by the individual needs of the patient. Osteopathy is based on the principle that the structure and function of the body are intimately related. If the structure is not balanced and healthy then the function is affected.  Therefore, healthy balance and function of the musculoskeletal framework is essential for the whole health of the body.  Osteopathy utilise a range of techniques including physical manipulation, stretching and massage, and other gentle techniques such as cranial. Osteopathy work under the principle that there may be a number of contributing factors to the symptoms and will therefore evaluate not only the area which is producing the symptoms, but also associated areas that may be contributing to the issue, including past trauma, environmental factors and the family’s health history.   Although osteopaths are well known for treating back pain, the practice of osteopathy can help relieve the symptoms of a wide range of conditions. Osteopaths treat joint pain, neuromuscular conditions, digestive conditions, headaches and sleep problems.

Cranial Osteopathy:

Pre-Post Natal Osteopathy and treatment:

Cranial techniques are safe, gentle, and non-manipulative. They are often used when treating young children, newborn infants, elderly patients, and pregnant women. Due to their non-invasive nature, cranial techniques are often applied in very acute presentations or recent injuries and traumas. Cranial osteopathy can be applied to the musculoskeletal system, viscera (internal organs) and during pregnancy.

A woman’s body changes during pregnancy. Those changes include the softening of ligaments, weight increase and changes to posture. That can lead to additional pressure on joints in various parts of the body, including the spine or pelvis often causing general aches and pains. Osteopathy may help relieve the stresses and strains on the body during pregnancy
and after birth.

Therapeutic massage and holistic bodywork:

Sacred Bodywork:

Several massage techniques, accumulated in over twenty years of study and practice, are applied skill-fully and intuitively to each individual body, to improve drainage of fluids, softening of muscles and myofascial tensions, and generally to aid deep relaxation and possibly to reach meditative states. Techniques include reflexology, manual lymphatic drainage, myofascial release, aromatherapy, reiki and deep tissues manipulations.

This treatment combines osteopathy, massage (including aromatherapy and reflexology) and energy-balancing techniques in one longer treatment, to address body mind and spirit.
